“Mommy Paints the Sky,” by Danny Oertli

After Danny Oertli’s wife died of a heart attack, his two children struggled to adjust to life without mom. This song of healing was written after his young daughter saw a rainbow and asked, “Did God let mommy paint the sky?”

“For Future Generations,” by 4HIM

Parents need to be a light for the future generation. By living a life of faith, they can prepare their children to be stewards of tomorrow who will stand firm in their beliefs and not compromise when times are tough.

“I Want to be Just Like You,” by Phillips, Craig & Dean

Fathers themselves, Phillips, Craig & Dean express their desire to be Christ-like examples for their children with the lyrics, “I want to be a holy example / For his innocent eyes to see / Help me be a living Bible, Lord / That my little boy can read / I want to be just like you / ’Cause he wants to be like me.”

“Find Your Wings,” by Mark Harris

“The greatest thing a parent can do is [be] willing to let go,” 4HIM member and solo artist Mark Harris says. A father of two young children, Harris pens a heartfelt note in song about his hope that his son, Matthew, and daughter, Maddison, will allow his love to “give them wings” and inspire them to achieve God’s purpose for their lives.

“Brave,” by Nichole Nordeman

“Brave” was inspired by Nichole Nordeman’s almost 3-year-old son, Charlie, whose birth was a beautiful disruption of Nordeman’s organized life. Ultimately, it is also a song about God: “You make me want to be brave / The way it always was / Is no longer good enough.”
