(Nashville, Tenn.) Word Music Publishing’s Bernie Herms was honored with several Dove Awards including “Song of the Year” for Casting Crowns’ “East to West” at the 39th Annual Gospel Music Awards. Songwriter Cindy Morgan also took home a Dove Award for “Songwriter of the Year” for “How You Live (Turn Up The Music), a song from her Word Music Publishing catalog.
Celebrating their 15th anniversary in Christian music, Point Of Grace took home a Dove Award for “Country Recorded Song of the Year” (“How You Live (Turn Up The Music)”). Currently at No. 54 on the R&R Country radio chart after just four weeks at the format, Point Of Grace also performed their hit song “How You Live (Turn Up The Music)” live at the Dove Awards last night.
“New Artist of the Year” nominee Group 1 Crew took home their first Dove Award last night for “Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year.” The group’s self-titled debut released last year on Fervent Records and was produced by Christopher Stevens and Andy Anderson.
Other winners include Word Music’s Lari Goss for “Choral Collection of the Year” (“Let The Redeemed Say So”) and Ian Eskelin for “Producer of the Year” (Stellar Kart).
