Bellamy Brothers Participate In First GMA Week
Nashville, TN (April 30, 2008) ----- Howard and David Bellamy attended their first Gospel Music week activities after their first Christian project, Jesus Is Coming was nominated for two Dove Awards, Country Album (Jesus Is Coming) and for Country Recorded Song (“Drug Problem”). The brother duo interviewed and met with some of the top media outlets in the Christian field that included, “Life Today With James Robison,” “Control Track TV” and “BBC London.” The Bellamy Brothers also met some of the top Christian artists in the industry including, Chris Sligh & Phil Stacey of American Idol fame.

The Bellamy Brothers took time out of their hectic GMA schedule to appear on “An Intimate Evening With Eddie Stubbs” that was broadcast live on WSM-AM from the Country Music Hall of Fame in downtown Nashville. The two-hour show featured cuts from their multi-platinum albums including their current CD, Jesus Is Coming. Howard and David also performed a few cuts live while also enjoying an in-depth interview with Stubbs. Live audience members received copies of Jesus Is Coming, got to ask questions of the famous duo, and meet them in-person.

Before heading to Nashville, the Bellamy Brothers participated in an American Cancer benefit in San Antonio, Florida. Following the Relay For Life race, the brother duo performed a free show in the downtown square that helped to raise $70,000 for cancer research. This is the first time in five years that the duo has played in their hometown area and the large crowd gave The Bellamys a standing ovation.

Jesus Is Coming is the first Christian project for Howard and David Bellamy and the 49th album of their illustrious career. The first single from the project, “Drug Problem,” has reached #1 on the Power Source chart that is a combination of Country, Christian, and Texas radio stations. The single reached #21on the Music Row chart and is poised to enter the Radio & Records chart in the near future. The Bellamy Brothers say “Drug Problem” is getting a great reaction from fans on their tour dates and they performed the song this past summer on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry.

Christian and Country media have been supportive of Jesus Is Coming with Infuze.com saying, "Jesus Is Coming is a surprisingly strong album of songs, featuring a traditional range of sounds with good writing and performances all around." CelebrityCafe.com exclaims, "The Bellamy Brothers already have a rich musical history and Jesus Is Coming does nothing but add to that." ChristianMusicToday.com continues, "Nice to hear a country music album expressing Christian faith in a way that's characteristic of the genre: personable, meaningful, and charming." And Bob Oerrmann gives a glowing review of the single, “Drug Problem.” "His “drug” problem is that he was drug to church, drug to school, drug to the woodshed, drug to family reunions and drug to all kinds of other character-building things. The track is airy and open and marked by dobro notes “answering” the vocal phrasing. Very listenable."
