FIREPROOF SOUNDTRACK CEMENTED

After finishing off 2008 as the No. 1 independent film of any genre, the faith-based Fireproof finally spawns a soundtrack loaded with the movie’s most memorable songs. In addition to several symphonic pieces, there’s plenty of pop/rock including Third Day’s “This Is Who I Am,” Casting Crowns’ “Slow Fade” and Warren Barfield’s “Love Is Not a Fight.” But the true treat on this July 14 release is John Waller turning in “While I’m Waiting” in both the original version and a remix especially crafted for this undertaking.

COUNTRY GONE GOSPEL

The worlds of country and Christian music meet up at the Grand Ole Opry on Sunday, June 14 when Brenda Lee hosts the 30th anniversary of “Sunday Morning Country.” The guest list is loaded with a series of spiritual and secular superstars, including Jason Crabb, Point of Grace, Linda Davis, The Whites and Bill Anderson. FERVENT’S LATEST FIND

The latest find for Fervent Records has actually been together the better part of this entire decade logging dates alongside Michael W. Smith, Jeremy Camp, Audio Adrenaline and MercyMe. Sidewalk Prophets is already a veteran on the road, though These Simple Truths marks its first ever major label recording, slated to hit streets August 25 with a sound that crosses bits and pieces of the aforementioned artists.

DIAZ’S VIDEO DEBUT

Already in the Top 10 on radio, Jonny Diaz’s “More Beautiful You” is quickly shaping up as one of this summer’s undeniable sing-a-longs. But now fans will have the chance to catch the world premiere video tonight (Friday, June 5) on the Spirit Network (via Sky Angel’s IPTV service). The add to video rotation on television (along with a Tangle.com internet debut) adds another notch in the belt of this already buzzed about INO/Columbia Records newcomer.
