TOBYMAC MAYHEM

After a three year wait, TobyMac returns with what very well could be his best disc to date in the form of Tonight (Forefront). Featuring special guests John Cooper (Skillet), Matt Thiessen (Relient K), TruDog (his son) and Nirva Ready, it's a star-studded extravaganza indeed, but the singer/rapper's signature rhymes and his backing band's diversity are what makes the music packed therein so memorable. Outside of a standard edition CD, a limited deluxe set is said to include a CD and DVD with extras like three remixes, behind the scenes footage, and the "Faith and Fame" episode from Gospel Music Channel.

FINALLY NEW FAIR

In 2006, a brand new band called Fair debuted with The Best Worse Case Scenario (Tooth & Nail) to widespread critical acclaim and indie rock appeal. The painstakingly long follow-up has finally come via Disappearing World on the same label, once again finding front man Aaron Sprinkle crafting a delightful blend of 1960s-1980s inspired pop/rock loaded with sophisticated songcraft.

A GIRL AND GUITARS

On its third long player For Those Who Wait (Flicker), Fireflight spreads its wings to incorporate some soft spoken ballads within its previously established hard rock frame work. Aside from the sonic evolution, the group's songwriting has excelled beyond the first two projects, suggesting these female-fronted rockers may be closer to hitting its stride than ever before.
