One big, scary word can describe my life over the past few years:
change—some invited and some uninvited.
Change is a daunting process sometimes ... things not being as we “expect,” tried and true “systems” no longer effective ... tasks that once came as easily as breathing, now useless motions that fare no better than paper in a rainstorm.
All change is a stressor. You can almost sense it in the air, feel it rumbling inside your being like tiny tremors from a far-off place. It’s unsettling even when it is expected, even if it is good change.
Consider this: Psalm 55:19 ... “
Because they have no changes, therefore, they fear not God.”

Change is a catalyst, always pressing us into vulnerability. That shaky feeling of the unfamiliar presses us into Christ. Change is how we become better, more aware and more reliant on God. It is how we learn deeper strengths and experience the deeper tenets of our Christ.
Whether God drives those changes, or merely just allows them, I would dare not say at this point. Of this I am certain though—He gathers them, mashes them up in some perfect God-order and uses them to bring us to “good.” It’s a promise I recite almost every day.
Romans 8:28 ... “
And we know that all things work together for the good to them that love God and are called according to His purpose.”
Change—even bad change, when submitted to Christ—can work together for the “good.” So truly, what is to fear?
Resisting and avoiding change doesn’t grow faith or “fear” of God, (meaning a healthy respect for all God is capable of). It grows stagnancy.
Lean into change. Lean into healthy “respect” for the many ways God is shaping you into His image and drawing you into His work.
