Her freshman album,
Glorious Mess (Crimson Pink Music) is just the beginning of the remarkable story of the girl with the mission and the music. This year marks an exciting chapter in a life that has already lived more than one amazing ‘dream come true.' From earning her music degree in college to the bright footlights of the off Broadway theater stage in New York—and now the recording studios of Nashville and learning to pilot a plane in her spare time—the spark of kinetic energy and bright "can do" splash-of-pink spirit that is Dorothy Savage has brought her a long way.
"I know as a Christian one of the main things I've learned is there are no accidents—everything is orchestrated by God," says Dorothy on the excitement surrounding her debut album.

From rock edge to reality lyrics, Dorothy's passion is to reach others for Jesus through music. Transparency is part of the attraction to her music and the engine that makes Dorothy Savage run. Her songs carry and share with others the same compelling hope she's found in her own life.
The message of
Glorious Mess is hope. "I am a ‘glorious mess' with raw edges and a mountain or imperfections! However, I came to realize that Jesus loves me because of these things—rather than in spite of them. It was a beautiful moment of revelation in my life!"
"When I wrote the song, ‘End of Me,' which was really the initial creative building block of the project, I was at a very frustrated point in my life. I'm a perfectionist who has always been motivated to work harder, reach higher! Nothing I did was good enough to me—inspite of the praise of other people—I was always empty and exhausted by having fallen short of my own expectations. I remember one day falling in a heap and crying out to God, ‘Why can't I just get it right?' What He said back to me, changed my life. In my heart, I could hear Him saying, ‘Dorothy, I never asked you to be perfect--or anything more than you are—this glorious mess you think you are—is exactly who I created you to be! When I got over myself and my own insecurities—when I came to ‘the end of me,' I came to the point God could use me."
And God is already using Dorothy. Through both her music and her personal involvement, she is becoming in 2010 a spokes voice for the important work of Mercy Ministries. Mercy's free-of-charge biblically based ministry program, founded by Nancy Alcorn, serves young women facing life issues such as drug and alcohol abuse, depression, unplanned pregnancy, abuse, self-harm, and eating disorders. Her first visit to Mercy last month to perform a concert for the girls sealed Dorothy heart with the commitment to share the message of Mercy.
"When I left the Mercy campus in Nashville a few weeks ago, I wanted to cry with the realization of what wonderful tools of healing exist within that building! The realization overwhelmed me that in my own life God had given me my own set of tools that had helped set me free—particularly from a very harmful eating disorder that I struggled with through my teens and into my college life. I had no ‘Mercy' building to rely on—so God came to me individually and handed me my own "toolbox" through my relationship with Him. Each of the girls a met at Mercy is a princess in God's eyes. I shared with them the message of my own ‘glorious mess' of a life and how God redeemed it—and how He can and will do the same in their lives when they give Him their problems. I relate so to the work of this ministry and I'm looking forward to everything I can do to be a voice for the Mercy message!"
